Major PR events for earthquake-resistant urban development

Based on the lessons learned from the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, the Urban Development Bureau is promoting the creation of earthquake-resistant towns under the principle of “Don’t collapse, don’t burn, survive.”
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, and in preparation for the possible Tokyo metropolitan earthquake that could strike at any time, we will be holding the following events to promote the creation of an earthquake-resistant city. As the first of these, we will be holding an earthquake resistance campaign from September 1. At each event, we will introduce the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s support programs to protect the lives and livelihoods of Tokyo residents.
