Hosted an event to remove utility poles from residential development
Aiming to create a safe and secure city, Tokyo is seizing every opportunity in urban development, including residential land development [Note], to promote the removal of utility poles. In residential land development, in order to further accelerate the removal of utility poles, a certification system for business operators has been established and efforts are being made to enact ordinances to promote the removal of utility poles.
[Note] Residential land development: This refers to development activities carried out with a development permit under Article 29 of the City Planning Act, which are carried out for the purpose of building residential buildings and involve the construction of new roads.
To allow children and their parents to experience the appeal of a town without utility poles, we are holding a new event with a variety of programs, including tours of disaster prevention experience learning facilities and pole-free residential areas, as well as introductions to the efforts of certified businesses. The event will be held as follows, so we encourage you to apply.
