Disaster prevention experience tour for foreigners held and participants wanted
Date
Sunday, November 16, 2025
Venue
Tokyo Fire Department Honjo Disaster Prevention Center (Sumida Ward)

The number of foreigners living in Tokyo has exceeded 750,000 and is steadily increasing. Many of them have no knowledge or experience of disasters, so it is an urgent task to raise awareness of disaster prevention and improve self-help among foreigners.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is working with the Disaster Prevention Center to provide foreign visitors with hands-on tours with interpreters to help them learn about disaster prevention rules in Tokyo and take appropriate evacuation actions in the event of a disaster.
Participants have given positive feedback, with comments such as, “The experience left a deep impression on me. I want to be more mindful of disaster prevention,” “I gained knowledge not only about helping myself but also about helping others,” and “I want to share this with my family and friends.”
This time, the target language was Ukrainian so that Ukrainian refugees could also participate.
Please invite your friends and join us!
