The Urban Development Bureau is working to create earthquake-resistant cities based on the philosophy of “Don’t collapse, don’t burn, save.”
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake and the 30th anniversary of the formulation of the Disaster Prevention Urban Development Promotion Plan. To mark this occasion, we will be holding a fireproofing symposium with the aim of creating momentum to promote fireproofing efforts.

  • Award ceremony (awarding the Urban Planning Council for its efforts to contribute to disaster prevention city development)
  • Keynote speech
    Professor Kazuki Nakabayashi, Professor Emeritus, Tokyo Metropolitan University and Tokyo Metropolitan University
  • Presentation of case studies by award recipients and panel discussion

Tokyo Metropolitan Gallery

  • Disaster Prevention VR Experience
  • Panels related to disaster prevention projects will be displayed.
