Applications are now open for the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Individual Housing Interest Subsidy Program for FY2024
In order to promote fireproofing in areas densely populated with wooden houses, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government will implement a program to subsidize interest on loans from financial institutions for people who have difficulty rebuilding their homes with their own funds. This program is as follows:
1 Application period
From Monday, May 13, 2024 to Friday, February 28, 2025
(However, applications will be closed when the number of applications reaches the number of available units.)

6 Application Eligibility
The person must rebuild their own home with fireproof or semi-fireproof construction in one of the following areas, and must not be in arrears with prefectural and municipal taxes.
- (1)Areas designated in the Disaster Prevention City Development Promotion Plan
- (2)Priority development areas designated in the Disaster Prevention City Development Promotion Plan (so-called fireproof special zones)
- (3)Tokyo Wooden House Dense Area Development Project Area
7 Interest subsidy details
(1)Interest subsidy period
10 years
(2)Interest subsidy amount
1% of the user’s interest rate (if less than 1%, the applicable interest rate)
(3)Interest subsidy amount
Loan amount from the introducing financial institution
*Interest rate charged to the user varies depending on financial institution, interest rate type, and time period.
8 Housing Conditions
(1)floor space
In principle, between 80 and 175 square meters
(2)Site area
In principle, 100 square meters or more, excluding private roads, etc.
※If the construction site falls under the above 6 (2) “Priority Development Areas (so-called Fireproof Special Zones) designated in the Disaster Prevention Urban Development Promotion Plan,” there are relaxation measures regarding area (no restrictions on floor area or site area).
