Started dispatching flood prevention advisors

As part of its efforts to prevent the runoff of chemical substances from factories and other facilities due to flooding, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government dispatches “Flood Prevention Advisors” to factories and business establishments within Tokyo free of charge.
We are pleased to announce that we will begin accepting applications for fiscal year 2025. Being prepared for chemical spills on a daily basis will not only help reduce damage in the unlikely event of an accident, but will also help prevent workplace accidents. We look forward to receiving applications from business operators.
Dispatch target
A factory or business establishment in Tokyo that meets all of the following requirements.
(1) It must be established by a small or medium-sized business operator or an individual business operator (*1).
(2) Chemical substances (*2) are handled.
(*2) Appropriately controlled chemical substances as stipulated in Article 51, Paragraph 2 of the Enforcement Regulations of the Ordinance for the Protection of the Environment, Class 1 designated chemical substances as stipulated in Article 2, Paragraph 2 of the Law Concerning the Reporting and Management of Releases of Chemical Substances, etc.
(3) The property is located in an area where flood damage is expected according to a national or other hazard map.
Advice content
(1)Advice on considering countermeasures
Providing technical and management advice to businesses implementing new measures to prevent the outflow of chemical substances due to flooding on measures to prevent flooding and the spread of damage.
(2)Advice on countermeasure procedures
Provide technical and managerial advice to those who have already implemented measures to prevent the outflow of chemical substances due to flooding, on verifying the effectiveness of existing measures and improving their operation.
(3)Advice and support for document preparation
Based on the advice under (1) and (2), we will provide advice on the procedures required to utilize financial support systems for flood control implemented by the national government and other organizations.
