We would like to announce that the Tokyo Metropolitan Government has revised its Tokyo Action Plan for Countermeasures against New Influenza and Other Infectious Diseases (hereinafter referred to as the “Tokyo Action Plan”) based on the Government Action Plan for Countermeasures against New Influenza and Other Infectious Diseases, which has undergone its first fundamental revision.

We have created a ” Prepare for the next infectious disease crisis! Action booklet” (PDF: 395KB)which summarizes the key points of the Tokyo Action Plan as well as infection prevention measures that we would like all Tokyo residents to practice.
It is posted on the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s disaster prevention website, so please refer to it together with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Action Plan.

3　Regarding requests for opinions

In preparing the revised Tokyo Action Plan, we solicited opinions from Tokyo residents from Monday, January 27, 2025 to Wednesday, February 26, 2025.

Government Action Plan for Countermeasures against Novel Influenza and Other Viruses

The Government Action Plan for Pandemic Influenza and Other Infectious Diseases Countermeasures (hereinafter referred to as the “Government Action Plan”) is a plan established by the government based on the Special Measures Act for Pandemic Influenza and Other Infectious Diseases Countermeasures (Act No. 31 of 2012; hereinafter referred to as the “Special Measures Act”).
The government fundamentally revised the Government Action Plan through a Cabinet decision on July 2, 2024.

Tokyo Metropolitan Government Action Plan for Countermeasures against Novel Influenza and Other Infectious Diseases

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s Action Plan for Countermeasures against New Influenza and Other Infectious Diseases is a plan formulated by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government based on the government’s action plan (Article 7 of the Special Measures Act).
This action plan outlines the basic policy for implementing measures against new strains of influenza and other infectious diseases in Tokyo, as well as options for measures that the Tokyo Metropolitan Government can implement.
