Held an information session regarding the inspection of outdoor advertisements

Wind and flood damage

In preparation for increased frequency and severity of wind and flood damage, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government will promote strengthened inspections to prevent signs and other objects from being blown away by strong winds as part of the “Tokyo Resilience Project.”
In Tokyo, when installing billboards or other outdoor advertisements above a certain size, permission is required based on the ordinance. When obtaining permission to continue installing outdoor advertisements that have already been installed, safety inspections must be carried out and reported.
In order to further ensure the safety of outdoor advertisements, we have revised the inspection report format to be submitted when applying for a renewal of an outdoor advertisement permit, etc., by clarifying and specifying the inspection items, etc., and the revised regulations will come into effect in April 2026.
We will hold an information session for owners of outdoor advertisements so that they can apply for permission smoothly even after the revised regulations come into effect.
