Energy-saving inspection and renovation campaign now open

Tokyo is promoting energy-saving and renewable energy measures in the residential sector in order to achieve carbon half by 2030.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government, in collaboration with the Tokyo Metropolitan Environmental Public Corporation, will begin accepting applications for the Energy Saving Inspection and Renovation Campaign on Friday, July 18. The campaign will provide free inspections and surveys of energy-saving measures and follow-up on the installation of insulated windows, doors, and high-efficiency water heaters at homes in Tokyo.

1 Business overview

(1)Eligible recipients of the energy-saving inspection and renovation campaign

Owners of homes located in Tokyo (excluding rental owners), management associations, etc.

(2)Inspection (dispatch of advisors)

We will dispatch advisors to homes in Tokyo free of charge to conduct inspections and surveys on energy-saving and renewable energy measures tailored to the building’s condition.

(3)Follow-up after inspection (new for FY2025)

After the inspection/survey, we will follow up on windows, doors, and water heaters to lead to the implementation of actual insulation renovations, etc. Specifically, we will carefully provide information that will be useful for households that have undergone the inspection/survey on how to utilize subsidies and select renovation contractors.

(4)Flow

Application (online or by phone) → Schedule adjustment → On-site inspection/survey (advisor dispatched) → Submission of inspection/survey results report → Follow-up (if desired)

(5)Application acceptance period

Starting Friday, July 18, 2025.
The end date varies depending on the project, so please check the website of each project.
