Selected as a target company for Air Solar development support
Air Solar Social Implementation Promotion Project

Tokyo is promoting efforts to realize a decarbonized society and ensure a stable supply of energy, based on the key phrase “(H) reduce (T) create (T) store” for electricity.
As part of this initiative, we are implementing the “Air Solar Social Implementation Promotion Project,” which subsidizes part of the demonstration costs for developers of “Air Solar*,” a solar cell developed in Japan that is characterized by being “thin, light, and flexible,” in order to commercialize the technology.
We are pleased to announce that the subsidy recipients have been selected. We are still accepting applications for subsidy recipients for this project.
[Note] About Air Solar
These solar cells use a crystalline structure called perovskite. Compared to silicon solar cells, they have the following features and are expected to be highly competitive with silicon solar cells.
- 1)Being “thin, light and flexible” allows for a wider range of installation locations
- 2)Development of manufacturing technology may lead to mass production and lower manufacturing costs.
- 3)In addition to being a technology originating in Japan, approximately 30% of the world’s iodine, the main raw material, is produced domestically in Japan.
