Tokyo Metropolitan Government is considering revising the Tokyo Building Safety Ordinance, including by convening the Tokyo Building Safety Ordinance Review Committee (hereinafter referred to as the “Review Committee”), in order to facilitate changes in the use of existing buildings, to respond to advances in construction technology, and to address recent amendments to the Building Standards Act.
Based on the discussions at the Review Committee, the Government has compiled a “Proposal for the Revision of the Tokyo Building Safety Ordinance.” Public comments will be invited on this proposal, as detailed below.
Going forward, the Government plans to revise the Tokyo Building Safety Ordinance based on the opinions received. We look forward to receiving your comments.
