The Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau are working to develop tourism-oriented towns that attract travelers and make them want to return again and again, with local communities taking the lead.
We are now accepting applications for the “Waterfront Vibrancy Creation Project,” which will subsidize a portion of the costs for sustainable projects that create new excitement in waterfront spaces.
1 Business summary
Tourism associations, waterfront activity groups [Note 1], chambers of commerce, etc. [Note 2], private businesses
[Note 1] This applies to waterfront activity groups that are engaged in urban development utilizing the waterfront and are public interest incorporated foundations, public interest incorporated associations, general incorporated foundations, general incorporated associations, or specified non-profit corporations.
[Note 2] This applies to chambers of commerce and industry and commerce associations as defined in the Chamber of Commerce Law (Law No. 89 of 1960), as well as chambers of commerce as defined in the Chamber of Commerce Law (Law No. 143 of 1953).
Eligible projects
- Facility development project to create new waterfront excitement
- Event projects that create new excitement along the waterfront
Subsidy rate
- Organizations that have been selected for this grant program in the past: up to half of the eligible expenses
- Organizations selected for this grant program for the first time: Up to two-thirds of the eligible expenses

10 million yen per organization
