Applications are now open for the 2025 “Papa Mama Tokyo Disaster Prevention Outreach Class”!

We would like to announce that the Tokyo Metropolitan Government will hold the “Mom and Dad Tokyo Disaster Prevention Classes” as detailed below, where groups of parents can casually learn about disaster prevention knowledge and preparations to protect their children from disasters.

1 Eligibility

Groups of 10 or more parents of infants to elementary school age children, such as moms and dads from daycare centers and kindergartens in Tokyo, parenting groups, PTAs, etc.

2 Application period

  • First period: Monday, April 7, 2025 to Friday, May 30, 2025
  • Second Term: Friday, August 1, 2025 to Wednesday, October 1, 2025

3 Implementation period

  • First period: Sunday, June 15, 2025 to Friday, October 24, 2025
  • Second Term: Saturday, October 25, 2025 – Sunday, March 8, 2026

4 Number of organizations recruiting

100 groups in total for both periods
*If there are many applicants, a lottery will be held

5 Time

Choose from 2 courses (60 minutes or 90 minutes)

6  Lecturer

An expert on disaster prevention for parents and children

7 How to take the course

  • Participants and instructors participate online from their homes.
  • Participants and instructors gather at a venue arranged by the group

8 Content

You can learn about disaster prevention knowledge and preparations to protect your children from disasters.
(Examples: proper evacuation in the event of a disaster, securing furniture and appliances, stockpiling baby supplies, etc.)

9 Cost

Free
*Participants will be responsible for communication costs related to online connection and venue arrangements (including usage fees, etc.).
