Publication of “Interim Summary of Urban Planning Road Development Policy (tentative name)”
In order to advance the development of urban planning roads in a planned and efficient manner, Tokyo, its special wards, and 26 cities and 2 towns have formulated four “Urban Planning Road Development Guidelines (Project Plans)” that specify routes that should be prioritized for development, and have worked to promote the projects.
As the current “Policy for the Development of Urban Planning Roads in Tokyo (Fourth Business Plan)” runs until fiscal year 2025, we are conducting research and studies to formulate a new “Policy for the Development of Urban Planning Roads in Tokyo (tentative name)” in order to realize the future vision that Tokyo should aim for, taking into account changes in social conditions such as the need for roads after the COVID-19 pandemic and the worsening climate crisis.
We have now compiled the “Interim Summary of the Development Policy for Urban Planning Roads in Tokyo (tentative title),” which outlines the role that urban planning roads in Tokyo should play and the basic direction for their development. (See attached “Summary (PDF: 792KB)”).
We will continue our deliberations and plan to formulate a new “Development Policy for Urban Planning Roads in Tokyo (tentative name)” during fiscal year 2025. We look forward to receiving your opinions and suggestions regarding this “Interim Summary.”
