Installing solar power generation systems and battery storage in existing apartment buildings presents various challenges, such as the need to evaluate the building’s shape, size, and electricity usage patterns; gather information on installation costs and subsidy programs; and assess the expected return on investment.
To assist condominium management associations and other groups facing these challenges, we are now offering a free advisory service to help determine the appropriate scale, costs, and benefits of newly installed solar power generation systems and battery storage units.
In addition to promoting zero emissions, the installation of solar power generation systems and battery storage is expected to reduce electricity costs in common areas and improve disaster resilience. In particular, implementing these systems in conjunction with large-scale renovations—such as roof waterproofing repairs—can further increase the likelihood of a return on investment.
We encourage you to take advantage of this advisory service to assess the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of installing solar power generation systems and battery storage units, and to use this information to help build consensus for their implementation.

Management associations of existing condominiums and rental property owners, etc., who meet the following criteria and are considering the installation of solar power generation systems and battery storage systems

Condominium Requirements

• 1. The applicant must be able to provide design drawings, certificates of inspection under the Building Standards Act, structural calculation reports, and other documents that allow for a review of the structure, as well as utility bills for common areas.
• 2. Must be earthquake-resistant
• 3. Plans to carry out major renovations, including roof waterproofing repairs, within the next five years

4. Content of the Advice

Consultation, Investigation

Investigate the site and relevant documents (such as as-built drawings, structural calculations, and utility bills for common areas), taking into account the wishes of the homeowners’ association and other relevant parties.

Proposal

Based on the results of consultations and surveys, we will prepare a “Report on the Feasibility Study for the Introduction of Solar Power Generation and Related Systems,” which will propose the appropriate scale of the solar power generation and battery storage systems, estimated costs after factoring in subsidies, the expected reduction in electricity bills, and the payback period.
We will provide an explanation of the report’s contents at a later date. Additionally, follow-up visits will be available as needed after the proposal is submitted.
