Workshop
Date:2024/07/03 Venue:Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building No. 1, 5th floor, main conference room, 2-8-1 Nishi-Shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku

The Civil Engineering Technology Seminar was established in 1971 as the Civil Engineering Technology Research Association. As part of the Bureau’s technical training, external lecturers are invited to give lectures on the latest technical information. This is the 50th time this seminar has been held, making it a very historic seminar.

As we enter an aging society with a declining birthrate, Japan aims to realize a “human-centered society” in which everyone can live a comfortable, vibrant, and high-quality life, utilizing cutting-edge technologies such as IoT to achieve both economic development and the resolution of social issues.

Tokyo is also promoting compact and smart urban development efforts as outlined in the “Grand Design for Urban Development” and the “Future Tokyo” Strategy.

For the 50th seminar, we have invited three experts from industry, government, and academia to give lectures to help with Tokyo’s urban development, with an eye on what Tokyo will look like in the 2040s.
The purpose of this seminar is to provide knowledge and training to technical staff from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and local municipalities within Tokyo, but any interested Tokyo residents can also participate (participation is free).
We look forward to receiving many applications.
