Exhibition of Reconstruction Town Planning! Tokyo Reconstruction Progress: City Planning for the Future”
This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Great Kanto Earthquake. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government will seize this opportunity to raise disaster awareness among the people of Tokyo by holding various events and creating contents throughout the year, mainly on September 1, the day the Great Kanto Earthquake occurred, in cooperation with the various bureaus within the government.
The Reconstruction and Urban Development Exhibition will be held under the theme of “Progress of Tokyo’s Reconstruction” to promote understanding of disaster-resistant urban development!
This exhibition will be held on the first floor of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building No. 2, and will include an overview of the Great Kanto Earthquake, recovery from the Great Kanto Earthquake, and current and future urban planning, with a focus on photographs from the time of the earthquake and after the recovery.
The exhibition is open to everyone, so please feel free to visit.

Monday, June 12, 2023 – Friday, June 16, 2023, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
2nd
Monday, July 10 – Friday, July 21, 2023, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays)
*Some of the exhibits will be changed for the second exhibition.

Left side of the main entrance on the 1st floor of the Second Main Building of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government
3.Other
- The exhibition focuses on photographs, and is open to all visitors free of charge.
- There will also be quizzes and other contents for children, making the exhibition suitable for people of all ages.
