Draft Revision of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s Plan for the Removal of Overhead Power Lines: Call for Comments

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is promoting the removal of utility poles by burying overhead power lines to strengthen urban disaster prevention capabilities, ensure safe and comfortable pedestrian spaces, and create an attractive urban landscape.Based on the policies outlined in the next “Tokyo Metropolitan Government Overhead Power Line Removal Plan” announced in February 2026, we have compiled the “Tokyo Metropolitan Government Overhead Power Line Removal Plan (Revised) (Draft).”
We are hereby announcing this plan and soliciting feedback from residents. We will formulate the final plan based on the feedback we receive.

From Friday, May 15, 2026, to Sunday, June 14, 2026
(2) Submission Method
- Please submit your application by mail (postmarked no later than June 14) or by filling out the designated form.
- When submitting your comments, please include the subject line “Comments on the Draft Revision of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s Plan for the Removal of Overhead Power Lines” and provide the following information : 1) Your comments, 2) Your address, 3) Your name, and 4) Your age.
Please note that items 2), 3), and 4) are optional. - Please note that we do not accept feedback via phone or in person.
