The Tokyo Metropolitan Government, in collaboration with the Tokyo Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Tokyo Medical Association, is implementing the “Start at the Workplace! Project to Improve Infectious Disease Response Capabilities” with the aim of enhancing companies’ ability to respond to infectious diseases.
Utilizing this project will help promote the implementation of infectious disease countermeasures and business continuity plans (BCPs) in the workplace, leading to reduced risks for employees, the maintenance and improvement of productivity, and ultimately, an increase in corporate value.
We strongly encourage all companies and business owners to participate in this project, prepare for “what-if” scenarios even during normal times, and work to improve their infectious disease countermeasures.

You can also receive advice on creating these plans from the Tokyo Chamber of Commerce and Industry.	Develop and submit an infectious disease business continuity plan (BCP) for each business location

The scope covers “companies,” “non-corporate legal entities,” “business establishments” (such as headquarters, sales offices, and branches), and “sole proprietors” located in Tokyo.

2. Three Benefits of This Project

• We can systematically implement the infectious disease prevention measures required of companies.
• Infectious disease prevention measures are one of the evaluation criteria under the “Certification System for Companies with Excellent Health Management ^{[Note 2]}.”
• Companies that have applied and those that have met the criteria will be featured on the Tokyo Metropolitan Government website.

(Appendix) Videos of Lectures by Experts on Infectious Disease Prevention Measures for Businesses

In response to the increase in measles cases in Tokyo, we have been releasing videos since May of Reiwa 8 that explain the latest information on measles and the importance of vaccination.
In addition, we will be gradually releasing video lectures by experts tailored to the current infection situation, aimed at personnel, labor relations, and health and safety managers at companies and other organizations.
These videos can also be used as training materials for employees, so we encourage you to watch them.
