Applications now being accepted for the project to promote the introduction of renewable energy in island regions.
Applications for subsidies (12 yen/kilowatt-hour) for FIT-eligible equipment will begin on April 1, 2026.

Facing two crises—a climate crisis and an energy crisis—the Tokyo Metropolitan Government has set its sights on achieving Zero Emission Tokyo, contributing to net-zero global CO2 emissions by 2050, and is accelerating its efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030, aiming for a carbon-half goal.
Especially in island regions, where the power grid is independent, expanding the introduction of renewable energy and aiming to become a zero-emission island is important from the perspective of securing power in the event of a disaster. In order to realize a zero-emission island, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government has been providing subsidies to power generation businesses that introduce renewable energy power generation facilities in Tokyo’s island regions since fiscal year 2025, based on the amount of electricity generated by those power sources.
We are pleased to announce that we have expanded the scale of our program and will now begin accepting applications for the 2026 fiscal year.

(2)Eligible recipients
Private businesses (private companies, educational institutions, public interest foundations, medical corporations, social welfare corporations, etc.)
(3)Electricity volume that forms the basis for calculating the subsidy
Of the power generation projects initiated under the subsidized projects, the amount of electricity certified as a power source eligible for the FIT system.
(4)Grant amount
For the projects selected in fiscal year 2026, the amount was calculated by multiplying the amount of electricity used as the basis for the grant calculation by 12 yen per kilowatt-hour.
(5)Main grant requirements
- This project must be a new power generation business that uses one of the renewable energy power generation facilities and is based on a business plan that has obtained certification under the FIT (Feed-in Tariff) system.
- The ability to prove the amount of electricity generated by power sources covered by the FIT (Feed-in Tariff) system. etc.
(6)Grant period
Up to 60 months, including the month in which the service begins.
(7)Fiscal year 2026 application period
April 1, 2026 (Wednesday) – March 31, 2027 (Wednesday)
